EVERY WOMAN MATTERS
Accordingly to the Canadian Encyclopedia: “ High rates of domestic violence afflict Indigenous women throughout North America. […] They are significantly overrepresented among missing and murdered women. “
My goal was to show different women using different shapes and colors. Even if they look colorful and bright at the first sign, there is a hidden dark part in it. Did you notice the blue or black color around the eye? Yes, it’s hidden bruises. Red color on one part of lips or neck? – Yes, it’s blood and cut.
And yes we can’t recognize it at once as we can’t recognize the victim of domestic violence until it’s not too late.  But we can see green and yellow color as symbols of hope. Hope that this will never happen again.
The background colors are green, blue, and brown and they represent earth, air, and water and the connection of Indigenous women to nature and life.
Typography is called BAUHAUS 93 and I included a special aboriginal symbol that means a group of women sitting.
